Angry Birds

Angry Birds is a video game franchise created by Finnish company Rovio Entertainment. Inspired by Crush the Castle,^[2] the first game in the series was initially released in December 2009 for Apple iOS.^[3] As of October 2010, 12 million copies of the game have been purchased from App Store.^[4] The company then released ports of the game for other touchscreen smartphone operating systems, including Android, Symbian and Windows Phone.

The franchise has since been expanded to include video game console and PC ports.

Angry Birds has been praised for its successful combination of fun gameplay, comical style, and low price. Its popularity led to many spin-offs, versions of Angry Birds being created for PCs and gaming consoles, a market for merchandise featuring its characters, a televised cartoon series, and an upcoming feature film. In January 2014 there had been over two billion downloads across all platforms, including both regular and special editions:^[5][6] as of July 2015, the series’ games have been downloaded more than three billion times collectively,^[7] making it the most downloaded freemium game series of all time. The original Angry Birds has been called "one of the most mainstream games out right now",^[8] "one of the great runaway hits of 2010",^[9] and "the largest mobile app success the world has seen so far".^[10] An animated feature film based on the series was released by Columbia Pictures on May 20, 2016, and the first main-series sequel, Angry Birds 2, was released on July 30, 2015.

Road Rash

Road Rash debuted on the Sega Genesis in 1991. The game takes place in California, on progressively longer two-lane roads. While the game has a two-player mode, it is a take-turns system that only allows one person to play at a time. There are 14 other opponents in a race. A port of the game wound up on the Amiga, and various scaled-down versions were made for Master System, Sega Game Gear and Game Boy. The Game Boy version is one of just two officially licensed games that is incompatible with the Game Boy Color and newer consoles in the line.^[1] There was even a version planned for the SNES, but this was eventually canceled.^{[citation needed]}

An updated version of the first game was made for a CD-based platforms such as Sega CD, 3DO, PlayStation, Sega Saturn and Microsoft Windows. It features a number of changes such as the ability to choose characters (with various starting cashpiles and bikes, some even have starting weapons) before playing, fleshed-out reputation and gossip systems and even full-motion video sequences to advance a plot. The updated version once again features all-California locales: The City, The Peninsula, Pacific Coast Highway, Sierra Nevada, and Napa Valley. The roads themselves now feature brief divided road sections.

Counter Strike

Counter-Strike (frequently abbreviated as CS) is a series of multiplayer first-person shooter video games, in which teams of terrorists and counter-terrorists battle to, respectively, perpetrate an act of terror (bombing, hostage-taking) and prevent it (bomb defusal, hostage rescue). The series began on Windows in 1999 with the first version of Counter-Strike. It was initially released as a modification for Half-Life and developed by Minh "Gooseman" Le and Jess "Cliffe" Cliffe, before the rights to the game's intellectual property were acquired by Valve Corporation, the developers of Half-Life.

The game was followed-up with Counter-Strike: Condition Zero, developed by Turtle Rock Studios and released in 2004. Later that same year, Counter-Strike: Source was released by Valve Corporation. Released only eight months after Counter-Strike: Condition Zero, in November 2004, the game was a remake of the original Counter-Strike and the first in the series to run on Valve's newly created Source engine.^[1] The fourth game in the main series to have been developed by Valve, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, was released in 2012 for Windows, OS X, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3. Hidden Path Entertainment, who also worked on Counter-Strike: Source post-release, helped to develop the game alongside Valve.^[2] Several spin-off titles have been released for Asian territories.
